Vacation, reading, and writing

I just got back from a short vacation. It was very good though and much needed. I went with some of my family to see extended family and for a cousin’s wedding. If I’m being honest, the wedding was sort of an excuse. I just wanted to get away from work. It was good all around though. There have been times in the past were these trips felt hectic and almost draining. This time was much better. I had plains every day, but not every minute of every day was planned out.

I got some reading and writing done too. I finish the Beatrix Potter books on the way. I started a Christian, romance book with three stories in it. It’s not terrible, but it’s not great either. It has some of the pitfalls a lot of those books have, but it’s nice for a change of pace.

More importantly, I finished the book I have been working on for the past two to three years. Well, I finished the writing part. I need to finish typing it up, and then there will be several read-throughs and editing. I also started on the next book. I use to wait to start the next book until the other’s editing was all done, but I write at work and the editing is down at home. I think I can separate the two well enough so I’m going to try working on both this time around.

For my next three posts, I think I’m going to cheat a little. Last year I did post about my book and the three different stories in it. I talked about why I did certain things and where some ideas came from. Well, I’m going to copy and post those posts again. They say everything I want so…
