Fairy Tales and Myths

I have been really bad about writing of late. Life is busy, and I normally talk about books and movies, but I have not been reading or watching much worth sharing. I did read some fairy tales recently. I was reminded how weird they can get. These were all Hans Christian Anderson ones. A lot of his are just kind of sad. Forget the “they all lived Happy Ever After.” (Not all but a lot.) It’s more like "and then they died. The end." It was like, wait, then what was the point of the story?
I also started reading so Greek and Roman Classic Myths. The book has the stories for kids. (So Zeus often hangs out with women and makes his wife jealous. Rather than he’s a cheater and womanizer doing the hanky-panky with everyone he can.) Oddly enough these myths are not as crazy as the fairy tales, I feel like. Sure there’s monsters and all manner of things, and there is often not a happy ending, but it still does not feel as crazy as many fairy tales. I remember reading some Brother Grimm tales and it reminded me of playing with little kids were anything is possible, reason is relative, and even if someone dies they can be brought back to life.
I should try to post more often but I will not promise that that is going to happen. I’m going to keep my opinions about what’s going on in the world and its craziness to myself. We have all been told that “they are wrong and I am right,” about everything so I think by now we more or less have our opinions, and you can’t say much to change it because everything is true and everything is a lie.
Now I’m shutting up on that.
I hope whatever is going on in your life, you can find some good and share it and live for that and not the bad.
God Bless.
